Every third weekend in September State Street in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia is amped to the beat of Appalachia's past, present & future. Black Mountain Sourwood Festival
With about 200 vendors you will discover lots of local and unique arts and crafts and there will be something to please every palate with BBQ and vegetarian faire, custom-crafted ice cream and funnel cakes and jellies. Summertime favorites include the sausages and corn on the cob.
The Sourwood Festival fills downtown Black Mountain with wholesome entertainment for both adults and children in August each year.
Over 30,000 people from all over America will be in attendance at the festival which grows in popularity each year.

The N.C. 4th of July Festival is held annually July 1st -4th (unless the 4th is a Sunday and then the festival events normally held on the 4th move to the 5th). July 1st is Beach Day on Oak Island. July 2nd -4th are the core festival events in Southport.

Athfest
Every June, AthFest Educates puts together the Athens Music and Arts Festival featuring hundreds of bands, an Artist Market, KidsFest, Film events and more. Every October, AthFest Educates puts together the AthHalf Half-Marathon. Both events serve as fundraisers for the organization's year-round efforts to support music & arts education in the Athens community.

Mountain Music Festival
We really like outdoor adventures, and we really like music, so we wanted to create a weekend where we could do both at the same time. This became the Mountain Music Festival, and probably the best weekend of the summer in West Virginia (or at least our favorite).

Roosterwalk
Rooster Walk is a 4-day festival celebrating music, art, and the great outdoors at the idyllic Pop's Farm venue, just outside of Martinsville, VA. The Aiken Bluegrass Festival returns to the Western Carolina State Fairgrounds in Aiken, SC on May 10th and 11th, 2019. Lowcountry Shrimp Festival

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion
Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion – The annual music Festival began in 2001 and has been a part of BCM since December, 2012. A 2015 Economic Impact Study showed that visitors to the Festival from outside the region had a $16.1 million impact on the region. The Festival generally hosts over 130 bands on 20 stages in downtown Bristol during the third weekend in September. Attendance has grown to approximately 45,000. Among its many accolades the Festival has been named as one of Rolling Stone’s “Top 20 Tours and Festivals”, and has won a Grand Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association.

For over 200 years, Southport has celebrated our nation's Independence in a big way, and they invite you to join the celebrations! The city of Southport first celebrated our nation's independence in 1792 as the "Festival of Free Men," and continued the celebrations for two centuries, when the festival incorporated as the N.C. 4th of July Festival in 1972. Today, the festival remembers the sacrifices, celebrates freedom, and promotes family fun.
